For the first time since being at FedEx I tried to play the Vcation system. I got stuck with a MUV trip I dont want. So far, I cannot figure out how to dump it. Keeps coming back "drop not allowed for this assignment code". Anyone have experience on how to lose this trip?
Thanks

From personal experience, you're SOL. No trades, no drops - it's a herpes trip.

Best contract reference I've come up with is 4.P.1
P. Make-Up Pay
A pilot who is assigned a make-up trip shall be compensated as follows:
  1. If a pilot is assigned a make-up trip, other than make-up sick or make-up vacation, he shall earn trip guarantee.
Combine that with 25.L.1.h

A pilot may not trade or drop a trip for which he does not hold trip guarantee.

Time for a SICK call.

It's sort of academic anyway ... if it was a trip that the contract says you could drop, it would be;

DENIED ... INSUFFICIENT RESERVES

You cant't even be PDO'd. You are 100% stuck with this like Adler said

Only two options. Fly it or call in sick

Thanks for the response. Posting here was my last desperate resort, so I figured that was the case. Serves me right for toying around in the Make up Window. I had heard that execeeding your vacation hours was a good deal. Should have researched a little more before trying it.

Made that mistake years ago!! Lesson learned. I will never do makeup vacation or makeup sick.

MUV can be a good deal, but only if you absolutely, positively know that you want to fly that trip. Otherwise, yeah, you're stuck. I guess if something really important came up you can always try calling your manager and begging for mercy.

I wish they'd fix this on the next contract.

I've used MUV when I forgot about vacation in the next month (the one beyond the current bid) and had it knock out a trip that went a few hours into the new month.

Not wanting to burn 30+ hours of vacation in February (or whatever crappy month it was) I did the MUV bid to knock some of that down. I limited my bid, however, knowing that whatever I got was mine, with no trading allowed. So bid carefully.

MUV, MUS...and STBY periods

All undroppable & untradeable

Most pilots only make the mistake once
