When it comes to a maddog, how loose is your definition of "land?"

If generally touching down somewhere on or off airport property with only a slight possibility of being right side up works for you, then yes... the maddog autoland is fantastic.

No, I've spoken with him and he said that he just needed to urinize. That's all.

I would kick any FO in the nuts that did not change seats and take command.....Jesus

????? Can you not "take command" from the right seat?

I think people are underestimating what it takes to squeeze by an FA in a maddog cockpit.

Given that he didn't attempt it, I think we can safely assume the FA in the cockpit wasn't a newhire.

The MD cockpit is so small, I had to go back to First Class just to change my mind!

The Capt. Has made a report on the chitchat board. He said the F/O was going to taxi it but flight ops nixed it.

Good call if you ask me. Rather get towed and keep everyone on the 4th floor happy. There's no dire need to get to the gate, so why bother rushing. The slightest scratch or taxi mishap and the FO would be up the paddle with a creek.

Why would a guy not officially trained in or signed off for taxi decide it was time to change seats and taxi? The emergency was declared, everyone was safe, but why expose oneself to further risk and potential federal action?

Oh yeah, they gotta meet their connections.

He (or she) was trained in the right seat and blessed to operate in the right seat, what harm is there in asking for a tow?

He did take command: he decided that since he either had insufficient training or was not authorized to taxi, he should ask for a tow. I'm sure if there had been a fire on board, he would have taken action, but with everything safe, why push it?

But then I am sure he was not the stud you are.
