Not a SAPA cheerleader by any stretch, but that statement is not 100% true. I think SAPA and the reps do a lot of stuff. Company keeps them busy running around putting out fires. But we as a pilot group do not want to give them the tools to really help us. Either because we believe the BS union propaganda on SWOL, or we are too cheap to give up 2%. Meanwhile, the company will just pencil whip some new rule change that will cost us 5% of our pay, and we will whine that SAPA doesn't do anything to stop it.
Hard fact is that they wouldn't be able to just make changes to our "contract" if it was a true contract. So we will just continue to watch our relative seniority just get "chipped" away and work more days each month. Get more hours forced down our throats, and get to have that personal call from MT when we time out so he can explain to us individually why we are not going to be pay protected.
We lost 43 pilots in Feb and my bet is we lose at least 60 in March.
