How should one distinguish whether they should become a pro pilot or just have it as a hobby.

Check the thread titled "Pro's & Con's of an airline pilot career" in the "Leaving the Career" folder. Lots of good insight there.

Do you have $100K+ to spend on flight training? Are you willing to make $20K/year your first couple of years? Will you be happy living out of a suitcase for half your working life? If not, fly for pleasure, work to live.

You keep asking these similar questions. What is it that you're trying to figure out. If it's not for you then stop. If you like it keep going. Only you can decide if it's right for you.

If you talk about airplanes when you are with a woman and women when you are in an airplane, then pro pilot.

What is it exactly that you doubt about going pro? All you need is motivation and desire to make it a career. Hobby fliers are ok with just being a weekend warrior. You also need the ability to take hits and keep on pushing because it's a tough career but very rewarding.
