They were all the other drivers fault. Rearended twice and the first accident I had someone pull out in front of me. My driving record should be completely clean.

My main concern was how the lack of flying would affect me. I'm getting the medical done in 2 weeks and plan on getting the biennial and currency done soon after, but other than about 10 hours early last year, I haven't been in a plane since 2012.

Looking for pipeline observers wanting to build time. Once you have your time to move over into pipeline pilot position.

You might send a resume over to American Patrols in Midland, Tx. They normally want 400hrs TT but you never know. They fly 172's, do have a 1 year contract but if you are looking to build time that's a good start. I know a lot of the guys there move on to the Regionals after a year. They even have condos that they own and rent out to the pilots, cost of living out there is stupid high right now. There you would be flying, not an observer and you will get your time quickly and gain a ton of experience and stick skills.

How do you build up time as an observer? Are you actually flying the plane? These planes are single pilot PIC right, so no SIC is required? Confused.

If one is allowed to log flight time as an observer, then one can do the same thing sitting in an airliner.

The question I asked previously wasn't because I'm interested in the "program." I asked because someone posted advertising a seat in an airplane, and didn't provide enough details.

If that person is using an "observer" to do work for the company, they had better not be putting people in that position without paying them, and those expressing interest had best not be looking for such a position.

Cheapen a pilot seat today, don't cry and whine about your wages tomorrow, after you've lowered the bar for everyone. Defecate in your own bed, say nothing when it's your turn to lay in it.

I agree in not working for free or less than what you're worth too, and nobody's comments are suggesting otherwise so maybe lighten up a little. It would be nice to have the details of this opportunity.
