What about getting a 900 in NYC with a low number? Mine starts with 03 so I'm pretty sure I'll be at the bottom of the barrel. Is there anyway of know which class is just 900's vs 900/200?

Seniority is everything.

If the next class is 900/200 and the class after is all 900, take the first class... Yes, it MIGHT mean you spend 18 months in the 200, but it also might mean you upgrade 2 months earlier or hold a line sooner etc etc.

DON'T wait on a class.

The classes are Endeavor classes, not 900 and 200 classes. There is no way to tell which one you will get, and it doesn’t really matter. They both fly to a hotel in some city, they both have similar pay, they both have similar schedules.... But, if flying the 900 is that important, you may want to look elsewhere (or possibly wait for 18 months).

I came here, bid for the 900- and over 18 months later I still stay on the 200 because it works better for me- I have thought about moving many times, but there isn’t a reason to move airplanes (unless I want to fly the Big Regional Jet)

If you aren't scared of bleed air, and like lots of buttons bid the Deuce. If you like various chocolates and chips bid the 900. If you want 2 FA's discussing their cats and *****ing about no full kitchen on overnights, bid the 900.

More hours on the 200. No RSV on the 200. Yeah, I’ll go with the 200.

DL mainline and FAs usually stay at different places, unless it's the smaller cities. Their FAs get places like ours, their pilots get nicer places. The smaller markets they might be together, but it still isn't some of the dumps we stay in. FA is not a skilled position, most of these NYC ones were probably shorting people a full carton of fries at McDonalds a couple months ago, now they're FAs complaining that we're gonna get paid too much and that they should get more, and calling up every two minutes in cruise complaining that it's too cold in back.

While this is all very true. You also get more days off on the 900 (if not reserve) since many of the flights are actually longer than 45 minutes. In NYC the 200 schedules were going to complete sh1t when I left it and there was no movement cause it's being greatly reduced there. If you go to ATL, have fun being 20 in line, on leg 3 of 6, in the summer when it's hot as hell and that APU can't keep up, or heaven forbid it's deferred. And the other fun part is you get to fly through all the enroute weather instead of having a chance of getting over at least some of it.

Not actually true. Maybe in the past but not anymore. DAL mainline pilots and FAs stay at the same hotels, but the FAs have a different time trigger for going downtown (15 hours vs I think 12 for the pilots, except for NYC which was I think 14:30). Aside from that, exact same hotels. I rode the van many many times with pilots. I don't ever recall a situation where we went to different hotels for the same (long or short) overnight.

At mainline most of the people I worked with were college educated. Lots of very great and professional people from a whole myriad of different background. Regional FAs...that's a different story, though I've met some quality ones.

I went for QOL. 200 was better for 18 months, now the 900 wins hands down. YMMV. Enjoy the ride.
