Quote: Why? Is the internet going to get too full?

Why spend hours and hours combing through idiot posts like yours when he can get what he wants in a couple minutes by asking a specific question?

Work smart not hard. If you don't want to answer then don't.
Take your own advice bud.

I did take my own advice.

I didn't want to answer his question and I didn't. I felt like calling you out for being a rude, unwelcoming, dcikhead, and I did.

This guy is clearly new to the site and may be unfamiliar with the forum process as a whole. Why be so abrasive?

Quote: Can somebody give me an in-depth and detailed look as to what a first year regional FO pay and work schedule would be? How many days on/off per week? How much would starting pay realistically be? How much flight time per month? And how many duty/commuting hours per day? Assume I work for Skywest, Republic or PSA.
Thanks!
Depending on the airline you choose expect to make between 27k and 43k your first year.

Expect between 11 and 15 days off a month (varies from five on two off to 3 on 4 off depending on a lot of factors).

Duty times will vary as well. Expect 8 to 13 hours of duty per day.

Unless you're on reserve (75 hours a month) expect to credit between 80 and 90 hours a month.

If you commute you'll hate the job. If you drive to work its pretty nice. Consider moving over commuting.

Don't go to Republic!

Hope this helps.

A lot! I'm not going to write it all down but you can feel free to search other threads.

In all fairness, if you are going to make a comment like this, you need to add about 10 more companies' names to make it accurate.

I agree. I was just referencing Republic because OP specifically mentioned them. I didn't include PSA because I am not familiar with their culture and work rules. I haven't heard good things tho. I'm not trying to start an internet fight. Just answering some questions the best I can.

I'd also add:

1) Commuting to reserve will make you want to stab your eyes out with a rusty spork

2) After a particularly long trip in the shiny RJ, you will find yourself desperately longing for those days when you flew a beat-to-heck Seneca with 2 engines on fire through icing and TSRA+, because at least you were home most nights.

3) You will not think it ironic that you spent your whole flying career doing anything and everything to build hours...only to now turn around and do anything and everything to escape having to report to the airport and go fly a plane.

4) Remember when you secretly dreamed that your uniform would make guys want to be you and girls want to do you? Yeah...no. You're a bus driver in their eyes. That's it. And the guy who drove the bus that took you to the airport? He probably makes more than you.

5) If you assign a special ringtone to your airline's Crew Torture department, after a few weeks of abuse you will start to twitch uncontrollably when you hear the ring. If you happen to be snoozing in an airport immediately after your reserve shift has ended, while you're waiting to catch the +35 oversold flight home, and some passenger nearby happens to have the same ringtone go off... you may experience a psychotic break, a la Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now.

6) Regional FAs are only hot after you've had three drinks. Maybe four. Sorry to spoil the dream...

7) When you wake up at 0430 in a panic, leap out of bed and into the shower, and only realize as you're frantically putting on your uniform that it's your day off, and you're not late for your showtime....then you know you've arrived.
