Got a call from hr at Kalitta but APC airline page says pilots voted to strike. Does anyone have information about a strike at Kalitta? I want to do the interview but don't want to be used as a strikebreaker. Thanks

Voting for a strike and actually being released for a strike are very different things. I have no inside information about the situation there but I'd say you're safe.

The pilot group voted 97% for a strike. They have not been released into self help by the mediator under the RLA. The likelihood of that happening is about zero.

One does not get "used" as a strikebreaker. One makes an active and conscious decision to cross a legal picket line and stab your pilot brothers and sisters in back.
dont be that guy (or gal)

Vote was to authorize a strike if it gets to that point, the likely hood is low... but never say never.

Oh God I wish! Like was said above, a strike vote was taken. The likelihood of a strike happening is somewhere in the neighborhood of TMZ not having a Kardashian story this next week. There are many good reasons not to come to Kalitta right now. This is probably the least of them.

So the glass half full story I just heard was that the pilots will have an industry par contract this summer (read Atlas) and will be doubling in size over the next 2-3 years. Likelihood?

Slim to none.

Must have heard that from a recruiter or management puke. Trying anything to get suckers in the door.

I suggest you learn about the RLA before interviewing for any airline pilot positions. Good Luck in your choice of Airline.
