College credit for flying experience?

Doing research for a H.S. kid.

Anyone have some background on which schools offer it? Trying to see which colleges give credit for previous experience to reduce the total credits required to get a four year degree.

Second question - do the degrees meet the military four year degree requirement?

It just has to be a 4 year degree from an accredited college/university. You could major in 14th Century Horticulture and they won't care.

You want Regional Accreditation.

When it comes to college accreditation, "regionally accredited" is actually the higher tier of accreditation. "National" is LESS prestigious. If they're regionally accredited, you're good. I know for sure Utah Valley is. Almost every public school is.

The sketchy private (for-profit) schools are "nationally" accredited by organizations propped up by the for-profit schools. May want to check with a recruiter to see if there are certain banned "nationally accredited" schools or unacceptable accrediting bodies. I still doubt you'll find very many (unapproved schools) since the for-profit schools do a ton of military business by fleecing the GI Bill program--its a racket between them and the government. When they leave the military, however, their degree might not be recognized.

In summary, you can't go wrong with a public school, or any school (public or private) that is regionally accredited.

University of Nebraska at Omaha, best aviation buy for the money, almost half the price of UND or ER.
