Default Atlas Interview Dec 1,2 and forward

Not a fan of websites making $$ on pilot interview experiences. So here's my experience for future applicants:

As they were short, DB informed us of a single panel interview consisting of HR & Tech.
My interview had a panel of 3. Escorted in by a senior Capt. After introductions, asked to talk about myself. Then Why Atlas? What is the word on the street about Atlas? What are some negatives that you hear? How would you fit into this dynamic lifestyle with disruptions all the time? Do you know anyone at Atlas?
Then was handed to the senior Capt. who would ask me tech. stuff.
Brief an Approach plate. Emergency procedures. What is your leadership style, talk us through it.
Any training failures? What have you learned from them? Do you have a pref on 767 vs 747?
Any questions for us?
Other guys interviewing with me had a few more tech Qs. MSAs, RNAV1 vs RNAV2, Qs on METARs. Pretty much no one got any NAT or SLOP Qs.

All in all, they are very practical and do their best to make it seem like a relaxed conversation. Lunch was excellent -provided by them.
Interviewees with a variety of backgrounds -a few military, some 737 guys, a few Regional jet captains and FOs, a few guys flying overseas. What struck me was that a lot of the guys had some international experience.
They expect to hire about 350 next year, the same number they've hired this year.

Expect to hear outcomes next week. Great if others who interviewed on Dec 1,2 could post about their experience and result as they find out..!

They better hire more than 350 if they plan on staffing the Amazon flying. UPS has told them they plan on taking 120 of Atlas pilots in 2017. That's just one company. Delta, Fedex, united, etc will wipe out a quarter of the seniority list. Better get it together, Atlas.

Default Dec 2 interview

I had pretty much the same experience. They start off with a very nice presentation about the company and where the company is headed. Then they split up into separate interviews mine was just the HR lady and a captain. Questions went back and forth between the HR in the captain. They're pretty straightforward questions they tried to make it a very relaxed interview. HR questions were like some I found another site, like how would you handle the schedule, how would you handle being gone for long periods of time, and have you heard anything that scares you about working at Atlas ect. Then the technical part was briefing an approach and then reading weather from a TAF. The one thing that tricked me up a little bit was the TAF was for a foreign country that use meters for visibility. Besides that very straightforward interview very nice people enjoyed my time there and look for information about a week or two.

Default 2 Dec interview

I'm one of the military guys that interviewed 2 Dec. Got the preferential hiring list email today from Katlyn. Gotta say everyone I met at the interview, interviewees and interviewers alike, were all good people. Good luck to all.

Default Pre interview technical

Hi guys

I have been invited to do the online technical before the interview. How tough is it and what did you guys do to get thru it in terms of study.

I obviously dont want to stuff it up otherwise it is a year before doing it again. So if anybody cares to share which study material they used etc it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Egg320...with respect, do you not read the threads about Atlas? I know it may SEEM like a step up from where you are, and it may be in some regards, but if that's the case, and Atlas is some sort of 'step-up', than that means there are MANY operators that would be a step up for you. Save yourself the detour. Trust us. We lay factual claim to the most hostile 1980's management in the current Airline Industry. If you qualify for Atlas, than you qualify for JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier, even ABX etc. Just trying to help you out!

I second that emotion Nike. Why would one subject themselves to such things? There are better options. They are openly asking questions knowing what's going on and instead of just fixing it, they see how many takers there are to get abused. That's a bit messed up. Sadly, it's not the only place. Go have a read of "Fragrant Harbour" on the Prune. Yikes.
