Yes that's true. SLC is one of the DL bases. I think MSP/ORD get DL too but not sure. LAX now has benefits with all four because of the AA flying.

You can use a zed and list as pilot commuting
You can use a zed and pay for a non rev listing
You can list for UA and get priority over DL/AA/SWA/UPS and others but you will be behind UA and GoJet, AirWisconsin and CommuteAir
If you are in a domicile that allows for DL and/or AA and/or AS you can list for those just as above for UA.
You can have your spouse, kids, parents and a friend added as well to some of those above, but it depends on your domicile.
Those dependents can also use some zed listings as well.

You have to look at it from a different perspective.

DL: same as AA but also 6 buddy passes a year
AS: None
On the ERJ same as above but without any AA benefits.

thanks zondaracer
Thanks Zondaracer - seems accurate based on my experience. I'm currently an "enrolled friend" with United through a SkyWest employee. Any idea about the process if my friend quits to go mainline? Do I lose benefits the day he ends his employment?

Your friend leaves, you lose benefits the same moment he does. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
