CRJ SFO - 6 months
ERJ LAX - 8 months
ERJ SFO - 7 months
3 months of initial training will count towards these times. Expect to commute for 3-5 months. Also, if its an option, look at other CALI bases. ERJ SAN (4 months), CRJ FAT (5 months), etc.

Also, what type of/how is the flying of the CRJ out of SFO?

ERJ LAX...personally I would be budgeting at least a year, minimum, perhaps longer. I suspect as the company is hiring more people this year and the list gets longer for transfer requests into the West coast, that number could even go up.
*this is assuming the present rate of upgrades and guys moving on continues of course*
They still do transfer guys in from what I see on the reports but it is quite seldom and often many many months will go by with no awards for LAX. It appears to be a popular base and the flying has been decreasing of late.
SFO is probably more achievable in a shorter time frame.

SFO has gone very junior on the CRJ side. New hires have gotten SFO. COS has also gone to newhires before finishing IOE.
LAX and DEN require a few more months.
SFO CRJ flying is mostly up and down the west coast, but flows through LAX and DEN a bit.

I asked for SFO as well and i interviewed in November and was essentially told i could hold SFO right out of training. Since there was one guy that was in class at that period hired in October and was also immediately awarded SFO.

Without having looked I assume this is for CRJ? ERJ seems somewhat stagnant of late.
