Default Bases changes and commuting

I'm working towards my CFI to speed things along, but might be ready for the regional in the next year of so. Living in Louisiana, Houston is really close, I have a bunch of family nearby Atlanta, and my in-laws have a house in Phoenix, so SkyWest looks to be a good option for me. I understand for a short period, I might have to go to a less desirable place up north until something opens up that works for me. I have glanced through the online info and could not find the answers to the following:

1. Can you be based out of Atlanta which I assume is supporting the Delta side, and then transfer to Houston to support United? So even if on the same equipment such as a CRJ, can you change bases to support different mainline carriers, and if so, what does that do on flight privileges for the family.

2. While on reserve does anybody buy a travel trailer and just park it 30 minutes away from airport to support call out. I sort of like the idea of having all my stuff, being able to cook, place for family to stay a night, etc. when hanging out for a few weeks a month on reserve, and then could just move locations as my career needs change.

1. Yes transfers occur monthly, when your seniority can hold it and theres a opening you'll get it.

2. Yes people do do that. Atlanta is junior tho so if thats where you want to be there will be little to no reserve.

Our Houston base actually supports Delta flying now too. I’ve had months where I flew United, Delta, and American all in the same month. All CRJ pilots get United and Delta flight benefits, regardless of the base.
