Default Pay Comparison

I'm trying to make a simple comparison table of expected annual pay for an inexperienced FO (no ATP or type ratings) starting at a regional. Following is the table I have using the information available here at APC using 75 hours monthly.

SkyWest appears to be quite the outlier. I've asked a SkyWest recruiter if there are any bonuses in the future. The answer is "probably not for inexperienced folks" because "they have no trouble filling classes as is." This is a pretty big difference between regionals. One would expect the market to force equalization. I don't understand why it does not.

Is SkyWest really that much better of a place to work?

Code:
Airline          $/hr   Annual @    Yr 1   Total
                        75 / mon   Bonus    Yr 1
================================================
Air Wisconsin      36      32400   49000   81400
Trans State Air    36.35   32715   30000   62715
GoJet              37      33300   26000   59300
SkyWest            37      33300       0   33300

I think it will change very soon. I am only speculating but it will not be long until they have to change something. I choose Skywest for a base and sooner start date. I was told the last month they only gained 5 pilots. If that trend continues going into 2018 something will change very soon. I would rather be in before the change. I tried hard not to base my decision on pay only and feel the pay will come with time.

Whatever you do - avoid commuting at all cost even if that means less $$$. If you do have to commute either way to may as well follow the money.

Still able to get profit sharing bonus from day one, twice a year that’s about 1.5-2k for the year. We are in pay negotiations right now and I believe the time line will be short to completion. Watch this space.

Not that it changes much, but I think these numbers are a bit more accurate?

Code:
Airline          $/hr   Annual @    Yr 1   Total
                        75 / mon   Bonus    Yr 1
================================================
Air Wisconsin      36      32400   41000   73400
Trans State Air    36.35   32715   32000   64715
GoJet              37      33300   26000   59300
SkyWest            37      33300       0   33300

The Skywest draw for me is their size(stability?) and variety of bases. That could really reduce the odds/needs to commute.

We are in pay negotiations.

Fill out the survey once it's released.

Proudly industry lagging first year bonus.
To date this *whole* pilot group has benefited from the pilot squeeze.

You forgot to subtract out the 2 to 5 % we lose with the historical credit versus block. Our pay rates cannot be compared straight across.

He’s basing it off minimum monthly hours.

Which means to get there we have to work more.
