Training Footprint

Hey guys I was just hired by SkyWest with a June 21st E175 class date. Any idea on the current training footprint (I.E Start of ground to start of IOE)

Also, I live in Denver. Any clue how long to get the DEN base?

And if anyone could shed some light on what training at SkyWest is like, that would be awesome. Good quality program? Pass rate? Etc

Thanks!

I do believe INDOC is a week, systems is about 2 weeks and FTD/SIM is about 2 weeks as well (depending on sim availability and schedule). Plan on it being about 5-6 weeks before being signed off for IOE.

I don't know how it is currently, but I waited 4 weeks for my IOE to start so plan on having some down time. Keep your head in the books but go and travel too, see some friends/family/whatever. Enjoy the time off while you can.

Not sure on this one currently, it took me about 7mo to get DEN, but that was over a year ago. You could try for DMA out of DEN, might get that quicker but I would plan on commuting for at least a few months anyway.

SkyWest training is some of the best, you will be prepared and if you feel like you aren't they will do everything they can to help you get there. The instructors are fantastic. Ask questions, take notes and study with your fellow classmates. It's really not that hard, and those that seem to struggle are those who tend to take it not that seriously, as well as some of the older people in class who aren't used to the automation of the airplane. We had a few 55+ guys in my class and while they passed, they needed all the extra help they could get.

Hope this helps! Welcome!

I was told indoc was a week, systems was two, 0-7 days break, cpt+sims, 0-4 weeks to IOE. But...

My class date is June 13, which is a Wednesday. I presume this means that classes may not be contiguous i.e. they may be split across weekends.

It'd be awesome to hear from someone with additional insight/knowledge.

Here is an example of a possible schedule for starting on the 13th. I'd expect to be done around the first week of Aug. I don't know what the training department is doing for the 4th.

Best of luck.

edit: I have no idea about CTP

Good info!
I start late July on the ERJ. I was told when interviewing that Denver FO base awarding takes is about six months. But you never know, I have been told it will take "XX" months to get a base and been awarded it right after IOE. I suspect with all the ERJ's hitting property, there will be more openings in existing bases or the ERJ bases will expand.

Awesome - thank you!

I saw some reference where this is on the skywest.com website the other day in another thread, but I will pass on the info here as well.

Right now, the most junior ERJ FO that is DEN based was hired on 02/15/2018.

Pilot » SkyWest Airlines

Scroll down to the domicile map and click "seniority" tab, then switch from CRJ to ERJ.

Are there any new hires being offered captain upgrades? If so, what are the requirements?

We had some finish FO training and go straight back to CA training a few months ago. 1000 121 SIC and 2500TT are the requirements.

They were all on the CRJ side though, the ERJ hasn't had any immediate upgrades.

Wait until they really have to staff LGA. Even flow, immediate left seat, and a $45k bonus has not been enough for Envoy.

It already dropped to 2 years 2 months with a very small vacancy. Wait until they try a large vacancy.

Any tests/quizzes on day 1 of indoc?

Not on the CRJ side. No idea about the ERJ side.

Nope. First day tests are a thing of the past.

They would just shift the flying to be manned out of ORD. Just an increase in DH’s is all that’s needed
