The windscreen is one of the hardest things on an airplane. It's the aluminum and composite that is more likely to be penetrated.

Manufacturers test windscreens by using a large air gun to fire chicken carcasses at them. One company got really bad results until somebody realized that the chickens should be thawed out first. :p

That page is all jokes and aircraft misidentification is one of the long running jokes on there. One of the funniest pages I’ve seen.

The windshields are tested with frozen birds. geese regularly get sucked up in storms and frozen.
