Commuting from Flagstaff, AZ (FLG)

Wondering if anyone commutes (via Mesa or SkyWest) from FLG.

Besides all of the the standard challenges associated with being a commuter, I was wondering how 'reasonable' it might be to do this?

Many thanks!

Easy, drive to PHX.

Get based in PHX when you can. Until then, it's pretty easy to commute by air from PHX to other large bases.

Commuting by air would be problematic because there are very few flights. You normally need to have at least one backup flight (at certain times 2-3 backups), and the departures are so far apart at tiny towns that you probably have to head to work 8-12 hours before show time. If you drive, it's much quicker and you know exactly when you have to leave.

Thanks!

Just about the time that I think I've figured something out, another piece gets added to the puzzle. (Hadn't fully considered the implications of there only being a small number of daily flights. But yes, that (now) makes complete sense.)

I thought about it a few years ago, and came up with the same thing. Best case you're based in PHX, and can look at the loads to/from PHX to make the decision to drive/fly based on that. Commuting any further than PHX, you might as well just drive to PHX and go from there.
