Can they do this?

I was awarded a line but they are trying to add AM reserve on an off day and a day that I originally had a day trip on.

Found out when I tried to get on skedplus and it wants me to acknowledge it.

Can they do this? Do I have to acknowledge it?

Thanks

Sounds like you had a composite line, where PBS gave you some trips but not enough to get you to min guarantee. It's usually a hint if you're very junior and you get a line with like 19 days off...

In that case they will add reserve days where they need to to get you to the min credit.

When you get your line, if it doesn't add up to min credit, then email CS before the 24th. and let them know where you prefer that they add RSV days. Maybe they will, maybe they won't.

PBS may have given you a day off in your composite line, but the schedulers don't consider your bid when they add the RSV days.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. How long are they able to add reserve days? In other words, when can I consider my off days to be truly off days?

If you’re an FO the you’ll most likely have a full line next month with all the progression. If you’re at a junior base that is

Look at the amount of “guaranteed lines” in your base. If you fall under that. They won’t add RES days tonget you to 76hrs..

That happens, but it's rare to get a guaranteed line that they can't get to 76 and then have to pay you. I think it happened to me once.

They should add the days all at once, so what you see on the 24th is what you get. If you have a preference, let them know well before the 24th.

Pay you?? Your never guaranteed 76hrs as a guaranteed line holder... look at the bid transparency. Some senior ERJ guys getting 58-70hr tons of time off lines

I'm pretty sure everybody is guaranteed 76. You can bid down and do it to yourself if you like (and PBS can accommodate). I did that as often as I could.

But if YOU didn't specify that PBS could go below the min, AND you're a guaranteed lineholder they would have to pay you. Happened to me once, had some pre-assignments and PBS couldn't solve the puzzle to get me to guarantee (small base) so they just paid me... a couple days with some weird code for "meet guarantee" were put on my schedule.

That's because they are waiving the default minimum credit and bidding for the low hours. If you don't do that and are awarded less than minimum AND are a guaranteed line holder you are paid minimum without working it.

Outside of being a guaranteed line holder it is a composite line and reserve days are added to meet minimum guarantee.
