Follow up question then...as a soon to be CRJ noob living in DFW....which Skywest base provides the best 1) commute from DFW and 2) chance to fly while on reserve. I’ve seen lots of responses about DFW that say “it’s junior, and you’ll get it quick”. Understood, but if you ended up spending 3-6 months elsewhere waiting for DFW what priority would you place on the other junior bases and why? Thanks.

DFW-ORD on United or Spirit was almost always open when I did it. The AA flights get hairy since it's hub to hub.

Default Atlanta?

New CRJ guy in training - anyone have thoughts on how long it might take to get Atlanta? I've heard it's a newer base and historically east coasters didn't flock to OO, but times changed and there's a bunch of us wanting to go there. Thanks in advance!

The last award was 6 months after IOE. Realy depends on how many FO’s in Atlanta decide to upgrade. Or if any new 900 go there.. i would hope for 2-3 months in another base. But be prepared for 6. But like you said. Generally OO is “West Coast” newhires. So ATL will continue to be a jr base...

FWIW, the rumor here is 9E gets more 900 flying in ATL as the 175s take more NYC flying.
