Any DFW FOs here?

For any DFW pilots....

1. What’s the current reserve time as an FO in DFW?

2. Any word on DFW growing from the current 20 airplanes? And if so when and or by what rate?

3. When upgrading if in DFW, will you pretty much head right back to a Junior base and take even longer to get back to Dallas? Or are the majority of captains in Dallas moving on to a mainline carrier ASAP? Or is Dallas full of lifers to SkyWest?

Thank you....

1. Unpredictable until fully staffed.

2. No

3. Unpredictable until fully staffed.

I’m an FO in Dallas. I’ve been here just under three years and am right on the edge of holding captain there right now. There are some very senior people in the base, but it drops down to my seniority pretty quickly. I don’t think there are many lifers in the abse compared to our west. The flying is pretty bad right now, hopefully as the base grows it will get better. Lots of three to four hour sits, for low credit. It’s just very inefficient

That seems to be the general issue with a lot of American regional flying, especially out of DFW.

It really is bad. I was in Denver for two years prior to this and all I worked as a senior FO were 8 credit hour locals. Now I’m working 18 hour four days in Dallas..

1. Most junior line holder in DFW is a late 2017 hire.

2. Like it was stated above no, but 20 planes can crew approx. 100 crews.

3. Most junior CA in DFW is Jan. 2016 hire.

It goes senior from the top but goes drastically junior. July 2018 hire was just awarded DFW FO. Reserve of course.

Thanks for all the answers guys, really appreciated......

I’d predict junior captain going to around two and a half years. Could be less, just depends how large they actually grow the base.

How about IAH?

I used to always hear IAH was senior but suddenly I'm seeing 8/8/18 Junior FO on the skywest website. Is there suddenly movement in the baser just a fluke? How "efficient" are the trips compared to DFW?
