Upgrade times are not linear. What really matters is when a new hire will upgrade... rather than the current junior captain DOH.
Yes, the junior captain is a 2011 hire. Just 200 seniority numbers junior to him are 2016 hires. Many of them are bypassing. Upgrade time will be dropping quickly, and sooner than people think.

Follow up with your recruiter or whoever you've been talking with. There are other options out there, but if your reason for SKW is a specific base than those other carriers may not matter to you.

I interviewed lat November. Didn't hear anything for a week. Contacted recruiter. Said I'd hear within a week. Never heard, figured I didn't get the job. Then got the call. Don't be afraid to stay on your recruiter. You have a right to know, asap.

Actually, you don't. At all.
If you don't get an answer right away it means they are either still researching your background for some reason, possibly waiting for info they've asked for from other employers, or you were ranked on the low side and they're trying to hire better candidates. In the later case they might keep you on the back burner in case they come up short in the near future, ie you are their "Plan B".
I wouldn't take it personally, if you have more immediate options and are in a hurry, exercise your other options. If you really need a SKW domicile or geography, then wait and see.
In either case it does not hurt at all to show interest by following up gently, perhaps every two weeks. If you really wanted the job in the first place, you should have sent a formal thank you letter after the interview, re-affirming your desire to work there. If they're on the fence about you the human touch might help... especially if they're on the fence about your people skills.

Damnit, Rick. You're right. I'm wrong In all seriousness, though, Rick is right. But it is frustrating to have to wait and wait, especially when a lot of the gouges state they received an offer a day later. It felt like forever for me, and I was starting to worry if I should apply elsewhere, schedule interviews, etc etc, while at the same time I didn't want to move forward with someone else if I could go to SKW. I think they know it's tough for us to have to wait, but at the same time, there is of course a reason why it might take a while.
