Default Do you recommend Skywest?

Hey all, I will have my mins soon and will be applying at regional airlines, and Skywest is one of my favs. I’m just wondering what you guys think about working for this company? Pros and cons? I’ll probably move to wherever I get based, and I’m curious of the QOL. Also considering Republic and Endeavor, but I’m concerned about those 2 because I’d be getting in on the back end of a hiring binge and I am guessing I would be on reserve for a super long time. Thanks for any advice!

I left one of the TSH companies, TSA, Gojet, Compass to come here. After experiencing what life is like at the bottom it is nice to see it at the top. Its the biggest for a reason and is about to grow a lot more.

It's a 9.8/10. I took away .2 because it needs better adding and dropping of trips.

This isn't a complaint but a little bit of an observation. The people here, and especially those in Salt Lake City, are all so incredibly nice that at times they don't seem real, they seem like Stepford Wives. I almost want to say mean things at times or just let out a scream to see how they react.

I have not met a bad person here yet in the last 4 years. Could it be that I'm the only one?

Great company, great culture and people, great training. You won’t be sorry if you come to SkyWest.

A lot of us like to b*tch. Sometimes because we’re genuinely mad about something, but usually because we’re bored.

This is a fantastic place to work, tons of flexibility, great people and a great route structure (if that matters to you). I had several airlines to choose from and I’m glad I chose SkyWest.

Happy to answer any specific questions you have.

Back when people went to skywest with actual pilot experience these threads never existed because it was simply known. Now we have CFIs who bought their twin time so social media attitudes reflect that.

I left another 121 carrier after about two years there to come here, and it was a great move for me.

Been with Skywest one year this month. Very happy with my choice. Glad I didn't go anywhere else. Apply soon so you can lock in a class date.
