This is a different kind of question about being on reserve. What are the start and end shift times for the day when on reserve? Are they different per base? Are there multiple options for short call and long call?

There is AM and PM reserve. AM is 5AM-5PM, and PM is 9AM-9PM. All bases have both but they typically have more AM reserve lines. There is both short and long call; 2 and 12 hour callouts restively. If you have long call expect to be converted to short call a couple times each month.

Yes. Am reserve is 4-4 in some bases and 5-5 in others. Pm is 9-9. Long call is 24 hour window from midnight to midnight.

Where do most pilots who choose to leave Skywest end up? Do most go to LCC’s or do they end up at the legacies right away? I understand there are a lot of things such as training failures, volunteer work, LCA, and so on that play into this but I’m just looking for an average. Thanks!

From the gone list it’s usually split in half between legacy and ULCC.

Def guys under two years are heading to the ULCCs while the more senior guys are going to the big leagues.

Whats the current lead time from interview to start dates? Can one ask for a later start date?

I interviewed Tuesday, got a CJO Wednesday with an earliest start date of September on the ERJ. I scheduled an Oct class due to family obligations.

I am sure you could ask for a date out further than that.

Has anyone gotten the CRJ - DFW out of training? If not how long to expect getting back to DFW?
