Do not study the SOPM flows
Do not study the gouge floating around
(Gouge is on outdated system loads)
If you can get ahold of a cockpit poster
then familiarize yourself with where everything is (especially guidance panel)
Study basic 121 regs
Read over all the basics you forgot in the Everything Explained book.
Study up on basic jet aerodynamics and high altitude stuff.
That’s more than enough to keep you busy!

Don't study too hard before class, enjoying being off. The training is good here. Do what they say, study every night in the hotel with groups and you'll be fine. Granted I was in training under the old old syllabus of no CBT's but I took that new test in upgrade. If you study what they tell you to study in training you'll be fine. Enjoy your time off before class. I know it's tough but just relax and come with a fresh mind. The 121 regs isn't a bad idea but I wouldn't over do it...just my advice.

Does anyone know if Skywest counts 500 hours of military multi-engine PIC time towards the 1000 Pt 121 SIC required to upgrade? Reference FAR 121.436 (c) for this.
I've heard its the airline's choice on whether or not to acknowledge this, and some airlines (Republic) won't. Thanks in advance for any info.

Not an approved vendor, no. Will anyone notice and care? Probably not.

A lot of the obvious things would be tough to pull off: earrings on men, non-approved coats, facial hair, etc. But when it comes to pilot shirts and pants, no one seems to care. I wear cut aboves, and some golf-style performance slacks I got at Macy's. A lot of guys I fly with also wear Cut Above. Every once in a while I'll see someone wearing the standard issue M&H, and lately I've seen a shirt that's similar to A Cut Above, except it has a white padded collar lining (perhaps from jetseam?). Shirts and pants seem to be where most deviate from the PPM, and as long as they're clean and look good, your're fine. The only time I could see an issue is if you get your own black trousers and then get the blazer. I think it would be hard to match the pilot blazer to anything from the store. But I didn't get the jacket.

Officially no, yet everyone here wears them. I’ve even noticed chiefs and flight ops supervisors wearing it. Nobody cares.
