Travel Benefits. Skywest vs. PSA
I have CJO's from both Skywest and PSA and I'm weighing the pros and cons of both. I'm semi familiar with PSA's travel benies for myself and my kids under 24yrs. I can't find any information on what Skywest offers. Can someone enlighten me.
Thanks |
Potential for AS,DL,UA,AA.. DL kids under 19 unless they are enrolled full time school then tell 24.. I wouldn’t pick a regional based on Travel... base it of where you live and what your career goals are.. if you can avoid commuting while your kids are young. Thats a major QOL plus.

It depends on the base. A SkyWest pilot based in O’hare will have Delta, United, and American benefits. A New York based pilot only has Delta benefits.

Not correct. All CRJ pilots gets UA and DL benefits. In addition, CRJ pilots get AA benefits if they are based in ORD, DFW, PHX, and LAX. All ERJ pilots get UA benefits. In addition, ERJ pilots get DL, if they are LGA, ORD, SLC, LAX, SFO, SEA, and BOI. ERJ pilots based in an AS hub will get AS benefits. No matter what, everyone gets UA benefits. Also, all pilots get Alaska benefits on SkyWest operated flights regardless of domicile or equipment.
While PSA employees get benefits equal to those of AA mainline, SkyWest pilots get a lower priority on the mainline partners but have more options. SkyWest employees who are dedicated to a specific operation get priority on SkyWest operated flights, for example you would go to the front of the list on a SkyWest operated Delta Connection flight. There are some more details that I won’t get into, such as the United vacation passes, and parents/dependents/etc. |
You will quickly realize the word benefits means different things when it comes to “free travel”.

Thanks At SkyWest I can only speak to what the benefits with Delta would look like. Delta has a million different priority codes. You would fly at S3C. So you will always fly behind mainline Delta (S3's), Endeavor (S3A's), and Retirees (S3B's)... at least on mainline flights. Within those priority groups it's based on seniority. You don't get any vacation passes or buddy passes. The non-revving on Delta would definitely be more difficult. |
Always go with wholly owned.

Don’t say that around a ex Comair or ASA or Compass pilot... or Midway, Midwest express, continental express, Chicago express pilot.. or any late 90’s American Eagle pilot...
Also Skywest is to blame for those ASA pilots. |
