It's training throughput that is causing the backlog. Not only do we need to train new hires, but there's that pesky yearly visit to the sim that everyone already qualified needs to do.
If any regional could magically handle larger classes than they've got scheduled they would do it. Additional sims will help, but you've got to get instructors trained and available and the Feds, or Fed Rep internal Designated examiners, can only observe so many checkrides.

I knew all that and assumed that was probably half the reason. I just stated the current job contracts as there was a lot of 121 pilots. So assuming compass airlines. I did hear of an additional 175 sim opening before the end of the year but like you said training instructors.

Is the waitlist purely first in first out? Or are they prioritizing folks based on their credentials and/or interview score?

It’s done by date of interview. The first thing you’ll learn in the airlines is once you’re in the door nothing is based on credentials, haha.

FWIW. I interviewed in early May and just got the call this weekend to attend the ERJ 22 Oct class. The sim training backlog seems to be a significant factor.

To be more clear. What he is saying. Is there is no backlog between ground and sim. The max class sizes are do to how many sims. (4) .. 5th comes on line November. Allowing for 20 more students a month..

I would suspect that more people get calls to move up class except for the spots they are holding for Compass pilots in January:::

There is a new ERJ sim coming on line? Denver? Was just there last month and didn't even notice.

Man I am behind the news, we have a new training facility in DFW? or it's a temporary one? Great news for new hires wanting an earlier start.
