Default Need current 1st class to interview?

I currently have a 2nd class medical and considering putting in an application to SkyWest. I could upgrade to a 1st class but it will take a while to get that turned around with the Dr/FAA. I would not be able to get a class date until spring 2020 anyway and I could definitely have the medical by then. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Default Recruiter contact info?

Maybe someone could provide a recruiter's email so I could ask. I cannot find any on SkyWest website. Thanks.

Did you read the requirements on the Pilot requirements section of the Skywest website? Exactly addresses your question.

Would be shocked if any airline let you interview without a current first class medical.

I’ll bite. Except for the ECG requirement if you are old enough, what IS the difference in standards between a 1st and a 2nd class, unless you are on a special issuance or SODA that limits you to second class?

And if THAT is the case, you damn sure want to find out that you CAN get a 1st class before you invest a lot more time and effort into an aviation career.

You can interview with a second class however you must have your first class prior to your class start date. I interviewed with a second with no issues. However I’ve since obtained my first now as I’m just over a month from my class.

I was at the cadet experience a few months ago. They told the whole class to come to the interview with a first class medical.

I kind of expected since class dates are months out. Thanks.
