Training info request
Looking for info on day-to-day basics while at training, both ATP/CTP (DFW) and SLC.
I've read the info on double occupancy hotels, but are they equipped with kitchenettes to cook meals, keep refrigerated goods, etc?
Transportation?...personal vehicles to get to training and local in-and-around travel (groceries, restaurants, etc)? or Uber/Lyft? Extended use of a rental car seems cost prohibitive. what other options are there that trainees are using?
Any other bits of wisdom to share would be greatly appreciated.

SLC and DEN are a bit different, I did ground in DEN and sims in SLC.
DEN: 1 bedroom suite, one bedroom with two double beds, one bathroom and one living room with a pull out couch. Often one person takes the bedroom the other person takes the pullout in the living room for some extra space. Kitchen has a ~full size refrigerator, two burner stove, and dishwasher.
The hotel provides dinner three days a week, breakfast everyday and a shuttle to Walmart once a week.
SLC: normal hotel room with a couch, two double beds, microwave and mini fridge. Breakfast everyday and a shuttle to Walmart twice a week.
Most people just walk to training and take the shuttle to Walmart when the hotel provides it. Both locations have a train downtown within walking distance if you want a change of scenery.

Hotels typically provide periodic "grocery run" vans.
Usually some folks will have their cars, so it ends up like high school they are the cool kids and drive everyone around. I always brought a car, even if it required a road trip (which I enjoy anyway).

For CTP ground and if you're lucky for CTP sim you'll stay at the radisson for about two weeks, regular hotel room with twin king beds, no kitchen.
CRJ side of things.
For Indoc and there on up to sim, Stay at the Candlewood, Two beds, full fridge and kitchen, One bed in the living area and the other is behind closed doors so you both have privacy (somewhat),
You can bring a car if you want, but there is a shuttle that will run at 7am and the other at 730. There is a ton of Uber a lyfts to get around, and there is even a train stop that is practically a 5 minute walk to easily get downtown to the mall, grocery stores and coffee shops. But fair warning you will not be needing it to get around after class to go do something else.. There's Nomads right next to the hotel that has awesome food and a chill place to relax at and get a group study session going.
Sim, again if you're lucky enough to stay there in SLC, i believe you'll get your own single room. Elsewhere like ATL or maybe St Luis, it's all shared and a regular room. The drury...ain't fun.

So is SkyWest like the only Regional that requires double occupancy rooms? Is there the option to get your own private room? It seems like all the other airlines give you your own private room during training. I really like SkyWest, but this is a turn-off.

You can pay additional for your own room. At least that was an option when I went through.

It is a conscious choice to not offer single occupancy. Or in Jerry Atkins words - “why pay for it when you can get it for free”
