Default Aspen weight restrictions?

Looking at Aspen-IAH....is this flight usually weight restricted?

I took it last year (ex DFW). I was told the flight was almost always weight restricted, as its almost always a tailwind departure. The crew (and Envoy gate agents) were great, and kept updating the performance with actual wind from ATC. Ended up being brought out to the plane right before departure.

Enjoy skiing Ajax and Highlands, underwhelmed with Snowmass.

I flew ASE for several years, and the answer is - it depends. Completely dependent upon the weather up there. For getting into ASE, it’s typically less weight restricted (if at all).

Getting out of ASE is another matter. If the weather is good and the winds are light, a full boat is no problem. If there’s a strong TW and Eng + Wing A/I are required, it will be big time weight restricted.

thanks....what is the most seats you've seen taken out?

20+. It can get pretty bad depending on the conditions.

20 seats and 0 cargo, that was ASE-ATL with an alternate, anti-ice for departure with a tailwind. If things don’t look good, you may have to start looking at alternate plans such as going to Grand Junction, Eagle (which is often weight restricted as well), or just driving all the way to Denver. Having said that, just about everyone will do what they can to get as many people onboard as possible.
