This has to be a joke? Have you even seen Envoys proposed pay rates? Why anyone comes to this dump is beyond me anymore. We don't have anymore 1/2 day trips. Not unless you're the top 5% seniority anyway. It's just garbage min credit back to back 3 days (so, 6 days) and also mediocre 4 days. Youll be guranteed to work 90+ hours credit a month with only the minimum 11 days off. Go to Envoy and never look back. Only the wholly owned regionals with mainline backed funding will survive. Skywest is a dying model and management thus far has refused to adapt. We've been told by our own "representatives " that we need to "temper our expectations " for the next pay package coming up.

This is correct. No one should be coming to Skywest right now. If I was starting at a regional right now Skywest wouldn't even be on the radar. You're going to have garbage schedules that barely pay over min, so working max days every month. You're going to be gone from home a lot. And then you're going to get paid a lot less than your peers. I'm glad I got out. Skywest isn't what it used to be.

Exactly. I've heard that as well. I was talking to a ground instructor who overheard a couple of newhires standing aroind at the window that overlooks the hanger floor in SLC trying to figure out which variant of CRJ they were looking at. It was a 175.... we at the bottom of the barrel yet? Now we're not even interviewing folks? No wonder the washout rate is double digits now. It's horrifying to think who slips through the cracks too. Envoy will have first dibs on all the best talent and then pass the rejects off to us and Mesa. We're basically turning into Mesa but with more expensive rates for mainline partners so I wonder who they'll see more value in...

It’s been said before and its worth saying again. For those new to this forum there are some accurate things on here, but there are also a ton of wild inaccuracies and mis-truths as well. This forum is dominated by angry people and even a handful of trolls too.

SkyWest interviews all candidates and continues to do so. Also, the washout rate in training is not double digits as you claim. I am finishing training in the next couple days. In my class, we lost 1 out of 61. In the class behind me they lost 3 people and I think they had around 60 people too. Last month, someone in my class even asked one of the training department heads what the washout rate was and the answer was around 4-6% and he said the number varies due to a number of reasons. Some in fact wash out, some decide that 121 is not for them, some have family issues at home.

Hahaha yes. Everyone, listen to the self admitted newhire who doesnt even know the misery of our reserve rules or lives on the line. Listen to the fresh outta the schoolhouse people still drunk off their "leadership and professionalism" training and kool-aid IV drips. Definitely don't listen to us who have been here for years and have actually experienced the rapid decline in quality of life and moral. If you come here in today's pilot hiring environment you have NOBODY but YOURSELF to blame for your miserable life when reality sets in 6 months down the road that this place is in fact a total dumpster fire.
I was simply stating that interviews are still required to be hired by SkyWest and I was stating the current washout rate since I am actually in training can provide an up to date answer.
If people want to believe the validity of your statements that interviews are no longer required to be hired here or that washout rates are in the “double-digits”…well, they are free to make up their own mind.

My L&P instructor doesn’t work here anymore. He even mentioned in our class that he had his apps out and the implication was that he couldn’t get out of here fast enough!

You're damn right im angry. Most of us that have been here at least a year are. You will be too, newbie.
Also, it depends on the month but I have absolutely seen 10% fail rates. Admittedly I think some of that was attributed to COVID and doing ground school via video chat. However, there have definitely been people getting hired here lately who haven't interviewed. I'm not debating that with you. You frankly haven't been here long enough to have much of a valid opinion on anything and you just don't know what you don't know. You'll figure it out though. Welcome to Shawshank.
