You can drive but it will often be early and late. Very early and late.

Don't BS the interview team about your future plans... tell them you expect to move on but don't know when or for sure if that will happen.

Don't say this:

"Look, we all know I'm here just to tick a box. I hope to be at Southwest in a few months".

Yeah, from what you’ve said SkyWest is probably your best bet. I’ll second going for LAX as well over PSP. Much more commutable pairings and not really much further from PSP even by car.
