Default CRJ Ground Preparation

Hey Folks,

CRJ class beginning next month. In addition to studying Sheppard for ATP, is there anything else I can do to further my preparation for the actual ground school? I found the CRJ 200 SOP online and have been looking at the limitations but that’s about it so far.

Love to hear some advice from those experienced - Thanks!

Wait, how/where did you get our SOP online?

Just, don’t touch/read anything unless the instructors tell you to and what you’re provided.
Once you get to class there will be people that have a link to the gouge that has everything you could need.
Systems,limitations, test prep and checkride.

Don't go digging into content you find online, everyone wants to go into class as prepared as possible but going out on your own an studying any CRJ or SKY manuals won't really help too much. In class the instructors let you know almost verbatim what you need to know, plus im sure there are going to be gouges floating around your class that will get you started.

Roger. Appreciate the tips. We have access to the company website so I thought it would be worthwhile to get a jumpstart on the limitations but now I see it might not be necessary. Thanks.

Worry about passing your ATP Step #1 then take training 1 day at a time and work hard in training

If you're getting the pubs from skywestonline, there's no harm in reading the SOP and FOM, particularly the flight ops sections. I wasn't aware they were giving access to that stuff before class.

Generally no one gets access to full SWOL until day one of indoc.

I'd agree with the general advice to not get too specific until you get to Indoc, although I'm not SKW. A resource I would highlt recommend though is 'Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot.' Can get it for the iPad or hardcopy. I have it on my company iPad and it gets referenced pretty regularly.

No need to jump into the FOM or SOP before class starts. Instructors will steer you to what you need to know and when you need to know it. Enjoy your down time before class starts!

Wait...is this ATP studying for those without an ATP or is there going to be an ATP test for everyone?
