Im trying to get ORD to avoid commuting, right now stuck commuting to reserve in MSP. Im likely going to get a line in MSP next month, but I think Id rather sit reserve in ORD and be able to drive to work than commute to MSP to hold a line. What do you guys think?
the commute sucks bad..

Hoping for growth in LAX on the ERJ.

Oh wow that is awesome movement! Reserve probably wouldn’t be too much longer than the crj anyways.

There are also opening on the job listing page for ORD hanger MX positions.. I could see more 175’s shifting west for UA but keeping the ORD base about the same size...

Driving to work on reserve is a lot better. In ORD you will get used a lot on reserve too so you'll still build plenty of hours. And the movement there is so quick you won't be on reserve long. I'd definitely recommend changing bases and get rid of the commute.

25 additional 70 seat 175s split between Chicago and Houston.
I think Chicago will grow just a little bit on the 175, instead of shrinking or staying the same.

Are those for United? They just sent out an email talking about 25 additional E175's for United.

  • New, multi-year agreement to fly 25 additional E175 aircraft for United
  • These aircraft are in the 70-seat configuration, including 12 in First Class
  • The first aircraft will enter service in April with the rest being in service by end of Q1 next year
  • We expect to fly these aircraft primarily out of Houston (IAH) and Chicago (ORD)

So I guess the ERJ would be the better choice for ORD now?
