I believe there are federal protections against doing something like this, but I could be wrong. They could pay you and delay your return I believe, if you needed sims to get current. The ppm says first available slots though.

I need to figure it out, still 1 month to be released for work, and it'll be 4 months out of work total. Not current, and I wasn't able to consolidate (less than 100h after IOE when this happened), so I do need some extra training, and I understand that due to this situation, training is not an option until things get back to normal......but OFF without pay? as I said, I'd quit right away, because who can afford not getting paid for a couple of months? not me for sure.

You still have another month before you can medically come back but now you are ONP?
Where you getting paid before?

I had OJI status for 2 more weeks, and then the rest of the month ONP. Worker compensation / Sedgwick is taking care of my checks (60% of regular pay).

Sorry to hear this. i hope they can make an exception, thinking back to when I went out I didn't get paid again until I worked again. I think I was ONP until that first trip back. This is an unforeseen situation.

I doubt they will but I'll try for sure. Hope I can find a caravan gig out there otherwise

Air Wisconsin took over the majority of ORD UA 200 flying that used to be done by SkyWest under contract a few years ago.
TSA had the bulk of actual contract flying in DEN, Expressjet had most of IAH.
Besides that, the West coast is the only place where SkyWest still has some UA 50 seat exposure, which may see up-gauging to 175s in some areas. TBD...
