Air carriers getting assistance must "refrain from conducting involuntary furloughs or reducing pay rates and benefits until September 30, 2020"

Chip is the only one who fired pilots-in-training; sending employees home without pay and taking their benefits is a furlough. Most don't care about training folks, I get it, but we are (or will be) the rotten apples spoiling the barrel.

Perhaps this means Skywest has no plans to take money...Take it for what it’s worth.

That may be the case but I is still a pretty sh!tty move.

perception is reality. They have the same nickle and dime-ing mindset when you quit. Just wait for the bill for the iPad charger.

I wish they would follow the pilot agreement as rigorously as they follow their expense policy.

yes. Maybe not taking money. Also, remember, once Skywest start hiring again.....likely months or years away, they will also have to hire UA furloughed pilots first if they want to keep 70/76 flying. So don’t be holding your breath for any call backs or off the street hiring for a long time.

Whoever advocated for us, thank you. The company just reversed course and offered us VTO. That keeps insurance going for couple months. I get that hard times are ahead and who knows who is recalled when. But for the first time I, for one, feel like a Skywest employee. Thank you.

What happens if we don’t take the VTO? I was hoping for the CPTO, and I don’t need health insurance from the company so just wondering what that alternative is?

If it’s “admin leave” I’ll take the VTO, but with the government news and things changing rapidly I think I’ll wait until the VTO deadline gets closer.

And if that's the case, and we officially furlough, UA furloughs would have priority over SKW furloughs?.
