I heard the President created it in his White House lab. Rotfl.

My class was supposed to start the first week of June, I have not heard anything from SkyWest since I got the training suspension email back in March. Is there any place I can get updates about the company or just hear any news? I'm just curious how it will go once training is back or if I will be a SkyWest employee at all in six months. What do you guys think? I'm looking for any information, wish they would give us something.

On the news wire in this state:

State epidemiologists on Wednesday shared updated models that showed social distancing and disease mitigation efforts had a lesser impact on the number of Minnesotans sickened with COVID-19 than initially projected. And while keeping the stay at home order in place longer reduced the projected deaths in the state, Walz said it was unsustainable economically and to Minnesotans' mental health to keep the order in place for months.

Common sense begins to grab hold in the heartland. And they admit social distancing hasn’t had the desired effect. THESE are the news lines our industry dearly needs.

Absolutely correct. I have nothing but respect for anyone who feel more comfortable being home during this and especially so for those who have conditions that put them at extra risk, but thank god someone is finally admitting that the effect of all this on the economy is going to be more destructive to the country than the virus.

I guess we'll find out in 4 weeks how this reopening pans out. The numbers you see now are the result of what we were doing 3-4 weeks ago.

So far I have not received one single email from the company since the "everything is canceled" email I got back in mid March. I'd love to just be able to know anything that is going on. If I will be working for SkyWest at all in the next six months, ugh.

My guess is they don’t know. Probably don’t want to give y’all a timeline when they don’t know themselves. Right now nobody is hiring so I’d keep doing what you’re doing and then go to the first airline that hires you.

Correlating the expressjet downgrade announcement to SkyWest would mean a May 2007 most junior captain for SkyWest. For FOs, March 2016 hires would be the plugs. I'm saying this to illustrate the severity of the announcement and not implying our future announcement will be such.

Just for clarity, do you mean anyone after March 2016 would be furloughed in the purely hypothetical situation SkyWest did the same thing as XJT? If so that would be down to about 43-45 percentile range. Roughly 3400 pilots at a glance.
Brutal. But food for thought.

Yes, if the list was split 50/50 between ca/fo, everyone else after March 2016 would be furloughed.

Wasn’t it announced to be 10% staff reduction?
