I was actually very surprised when I got that email from PSA. They said that it is seen as a high priority within the company to keep the flow of cadets. I suppose maybe in the future they will rely more on cadet hires vs street hires. I'm not sure.
I hear about Air Wis. That sucks. Hopefully they can keep it going.

Yea... I’m sure they said that... however they are definitely blowing smoke up your exhaust. They wanna keep as many people interested in PSA in case of a quick turn around and so they don’t fall behind the hiring curve again. The stark reality is that an airline is going to tell you anything to keep you strung along. My advice keep your options open and take the next available flying job you can. This isn’t going to be over quickly especially if we get hit with a second big wave of COVID.

Yeah I think the hammer is about to drop on all of the WO's. DP rolled the dice that this thing would turn around quickly and he didn't get the roll he wanted. With AA retiring so many aircraft and the max still out of service, we are all going to start bumping into scope issues and that doesnt even consider the lack of business travel.

It costs much more to pay that mainline guy for 6-9 months than the meager difference in re-qual training costs.

I am staying in my current career for the foreseeable future. It will be nice to have a "hire date" for skywest in 2019 if I don't start class until 2021 or 2022. Good seniority for the flight benefits and 401k contribution rates. Maybe I will accrue vacation way faster too (no idea when the first increase is) I am just trying to see anything positive at this point. Same thing for AirWis- but with what Kirby was saying about decreased 50 seat jets I am leaning towards carriers with the e175 now or crj7/9
