How will Skywest staff the new flying
With endeavor now getting a flow to Delta, as well as the 3 American wholly owns having a flow; will Skywest be able to get enough new hires to staff all the new flying in the future?

How long have the WOs had their flows? Did OO have trouble with staffing then? I don't think the fact that 9E potentially has a Delta flow will matter much... unfortunately.

Flow has been around for over 20 years. And has a proven track record of not being the best.. you could get hired at a Major way before any flow in most cases... Plus some are not willing to be on the East coast just for a “flow” to DL or AA. Some people want to go to Alaska or FedEx... And base off of SWA hiring OO guys. Its almost a flow!!! ;-)

Fingers crossed 🤞 they won’t. First 9e has to still have a flow past the Fall. Oh, and AA actually has to be flowing pilots... 😕

Would it be fair to say that generally, flows blow? Often the wholly owned gets shut down or sold before much flow takes place. It seems now that they want to use the promise of a flow as a way to keep the regional pilots in line, behave or you will blow the flow. Don't get on the internet for a pay raise. Don't file a grievance or otherwise look like a trouble maker if you want to flow. Just take what you are given.

Flows sometimes workout sometimes they don’t. Didn’t work so well for a long time at American Eagle. Worked really well for Compass. I remember quite a bit of flow envy when all those guys started flowing to delta on the front end of the hiring wave. Worked out for the continental express guys 05-07. Heck, it started working out for the pre 2010 American Eagle hires.
Flow is dependent on movement. Pretty much like most aspects of this industry. Get in, fly your butt off, upgrade at the first possible opportunity, and get out.
