That is a fair point. Im just out of ideas why they are letting things fall apart so quickly when they have the power to alleviate the bleeding of pilots somewhat, literally all it takes is pay and life improvements and I guarantee you a fairly large number of pilots will be happier to wait their turn for GPI and you'll get the numbers of FOs willing to upgrade increase as well.
Granted retention issues are everywhere in the regional world, but if any regional has the resources to immediately improve pay and QoL it would be OO...yet they are sitting doing nothing for some odd reason. Im just out of ideas trying to work out what the game plan is anymore.

Management is out of ideas too, that's why the problem is so bad. It certainly doesn't help that the legacies chopped the top end of their seniority lists off and are hiring faster than they can possibly train. It's kind of fun to watch honestly.
A year of seniority might mean you upgrade a decade or two earlier, which is worth millions. Sometimes it's just a day of seniority that can do that. There is almost no amount of money that regionals can throw at their pilots right now to change that fact. Huge QOL increases *might* change that, but they would have to be written in stone and right now regionals are way too afraid to give their pilots QOL because that means even less flights go in the short term with no guarantee of long term retention.

Because you can't guarantee that a large number of pilots would be happier to give up epic seniority at majors or even ULCCs to wait for GPI. Anyone willing to give up crazy seniority at a major/ULCC in exchange for a small pay bump and slight QOL boost at their regional probably should have their first class medical revoked.

Echo that. Funny how MT just up an vanished like a fart in the wind, and this GW guy is mysteriously at the helm. All we get from him is the same old “take care of each other and win the day” bs and that sh!t eating grin plastered on our website every other week.
WTF is the plan SGU????
What say you??

How? WHO?
In troubled times management benefits from a union who can speak for labor with a unified voice to work REAL solutions. The GPI, DEC, bonus programs were one-sided from SGU. We all knew they’d not work. So. The quit is on. Looks like the 91 pilots lost were in the top 50%. Not junior pilots. There are a TON of pilots currently flying with CJOs.
Not a long-term problem a recession will fix.
A recession won’t happen in the next seven weeks. I think by June 1 we’re parking planes.
Too much of a good thing. Mamma says.
