Default How are the pilot interviews

Hi

my friend is apparently applying to OO aand wanted to know how’s the online interview. He was saying skywest is outsourcing the interview process with a third party vendor and the online interview is completely relax and mostly a HR interview

Just have them use the link posted above. Most of what you just posted is not accurate.

Here’s a post made on AviationInterviews from a few days ago, Jul 11th, “Interview I believe went very well. The person giving the interview was very relaxed and made me feel more comfortable. There was one other person sitting in on our interview and observing. Interview started with logbook times. How much have you flown in past 30 days, 90 days, last 12 months. Asked for my totals on flight times etc... Then he reviewed my resume and personal documents that I uploaded. We went into the typical HR TMAAT questions. . We then went into the technical questions...”

This is not accurate. SkyWest uses a third-party online platform to gather your documents and set up the secure online interview. It’s not Microsoft Teams, but think of it as a platform like that. Then when it’s time to interview it is with a senior SkyWest First Officer or a Captain. There’s an administrative side to the interview, an HR portion, and a Technical portion as well. The website above is the gold standard for interview gouge and I highly recommend the one month paid option.

Sure thing. That can be a great thing for those that can work with Envoy’s bases and have aspirations to get out of there in two years or relatively soon thereafter.

Be sure to warn your friend going to Skywest that they will have a much much harder time going to delta, and even United if they come to Skywest. Skywest went out to their 4 partners asking them not to hire Skywest pilots. Delta is has almost stopped hiring completely and others have slowed down. Envoy can only slow you down going to American. So just think of long term goals. I regret going to Skywest and had to jump to a low cost carrier before I could get hired by a major. Super frustrating and cost me a lot of seniority.

Indeed, Skywest has a powerful hold over other airlines. They will do their masters bidding and forego talent to staff their own planes out of fear and respect.

Default My friend just ditch the interview and skywes

I just spoke with my friend

he was so upset and frustrated he said skywest sent him a email saying for him to log on to some site to choose a interview date. He said the Recruiters which is all communicated via email ONLY said they can’t offer him a interview date and that he has to go to a specific link they sent him and he then has to choose a date. So he did that and guess what, there was no interview dates available at all. He could not choose any dates for a interview so he emails recruiting again and they respond back a few days later saying sorry they can’t do anything just keep on checking the link for a open slot for interview and maybe he might be lucky someone might cancels and he can get a last minute interview date. He asked long it might take to get a interview date and the recruiter said they have absolutely no idea but perhaps a month!!! Can you believe that a month!!! just to wait for a interview date. He said forget that and will apply somewhere else.

any thoughts on this for skywest pilots, what’s your opinion it just sounds so crazy and so unorganized and it seems they the recruitment department does not care really to help applicant a with the interview process. I agree with your point that skywest will sabotage pilots not to go to majors just for they own selfish benefit to staff they planes. I will for sure tell him that
