ORD and MSP

What's going on over there? It seems like theres no movement on the FO side for either base? I thought the midwest used to be super junior...anyone have any insight? TIA.

Key phrase there is "used to be". If nothing else in the aviation industry is consistent, change is. I'm sure it will cycle back to the midwest bases being more junior at some point, hard to say when. But right now the vacancies are elsewhere.

Lol. All of the newhire CRJ FOs are going to FAT. Just like it used to be.

SLC used to be so Senior..., but now it's so junior... welcome to the aviation industry.

I remember the EMB lead instructor telling the class "Here are the nine Brasilia bases. Bid wherever you'd like to go, because you're all going to Fresno anyhow." Lol

Outside of FAT how long is it taking to get ORD, DTW IAH or DEN now out of class

It seems they've put the west back into SkyWest as far as CRJ FOs go. Denver and Phoenix seems to be the next big two places newhires are going, with a few going to SFO and SLC. Atlanta has a long waiting list now. All of this can change though as pilots hit 1000 hours and head off to upgrade, or find other jobs before then. We do bids monthly, and it wouldn't be out of the norm to only be assigned a base you don't want for a month or two. Theoretically, you can change bases every month, assuming there are openings and you have the seniority.

Our CRJ class started January this year. All the class were initially domiciled in FAT with the exception of 3 who got SFO. Two live in FAT so they were happy with their domicile.

Most of us bid out as soon as 00 told us about FAT. About 5 or 6 of us were just awarded ORD. One got PHX and I'm not sure about the remainder.
