Skywest pilots and uniform policy

I know I'll get flamed for this one but....
I always wear a hat in uniform. I think it looks professional and to me the uniform just seems incomplete without it. My airline has a policy of "hats on at all times in view of the flying public". But even before when they were optional, I wear one. Mabye its because I got used to it in the military, but honestly " why do some guys not like the hats? They shade your face on sunny days on the tarmac, and its not like they are uncomfortable, and your headset is what messes up your hair, and I would argue if the hat or headset messes up your hair its too long anyway..... Seriously why is it some guys dont like them?

And I could argue that your right the last 30 yrs of representation has done wonders....hmmmm guess I need to quote the whole exchange..but hey its cool have a nice day...

P.s. I am in the if the company requires the hat, wear the hat camp. I always did when that was the law of the land, it didn't bother me, and I always wondered why so many pilots decided to make this their big personal line in the sand, yet would let themselves get run over on every other contractual item or supporting their union but that's another story I suppose.

Stop fretting about irrelevant crap like the uniform and worry more about your professional conduct in the cockpit. Iron your damn shirt and wear a clean one once in a while, also maybe lose the dockers and the "skinny ties" and chances are no one will give you any grief.
Good to know ASA is focusing on the important things like where to buy your uniform pants (bringing up congress' focus on professionalism--yes THIS is what congress was talking about...uniforms...) and completely ignoring the actual issues like reduced rest and fatigue.
