I just wanted to make sure this little tidbit didn't get lost on everyone at SkyWest. It is possible to launch the EFB and not have notification part of it. Does our reflow policy need to be improved? Yes Does that mean we need to be electronically leashed to the company? Nope This would make our already horrible reserve duty 10 times worse. And it would make our lineholders sympathetic for what reserves have been going through for years.

They just posted a few openings for PHX.. My felling is no one could replace us out there do to pilot shortage and no one wants to fly 200's on a short contract.. Think its safe for awhile...

I have no problem with a overstuffed stealth roller. Bins are as tall as a mainline plane.

I’m looking for guidance. I have offers from both Mesa and SkyWest for upcoming CRJ classes. QOL is most important to me. Currently live in Phoenix. What would be the areas I should most consider before making a decision? I know nothing is a sure thing but would like informed input from those that have been there and done that.

I have never heard of anyone recommending Mesa except for possibly quick upgrade time due to high turnover. I always hear they are unorganized and that pilots run away after landing because crew scheduling will be waiting to reassign you at the gate. And I've heard you'll get the least time off and nearly the worst pay. SkyWest has been going through a lot of change since I left them a few years ago, many lost contracts and closed bases. They have no union so you have no defense if something happens. Whereas a friend of mine at Mesa had a major runway incursion the captain tried to create a lie to cover it up. She was cleared and is a captain today and loves it there. People sniff at unions until you need one. I kind of feel like neither is a great option right now. My class from 2008 at Skywest just started to upgrade last year. Commuting sucks but Trans states is hiring and opening a Denver base and has Alpa. They have a bunch of new contracts and 50+ new aircraft. Not bad, planning to triple in size. Good luck!

And why exactly are you on our boards? You're information is dated and not a reflection of life at Skywest therefor your ill equipped to lend advice. Skywest continues to gain flying, 12 200s from delta, flying with Alaskan and continued growth on the 175...how did the union work out for comair...envoy....pinnacle...expressjet next? Yet the un-unionized regional stands strong all these years...alpa represents mainline.
