It's a great place for year 1. With the signing bonuses in our offer, you can make more than most of our FO's that have been here 5+ years.

I think they fact that the company's first offer was $0 over 5 years is very telling of how much they value the pilots. I get it is their job to not over pay, but with all the QOL things that would not cost anything (most likely save $$) it is sad to hear the company is not interested.

Hopefully the vote will have high participation and the company will realize the level of discontent here. Or we will just continue to lose 50+ pilots per month and those numbers will do the talking.

50 seems a bit ambitious I think it's closer to the 30-40 range.

You guys are middle of the pack, and you're not a labor threat, thus you guys are a more attractive option to the mainline carriers. So you aren't "low-balling" based on numbers, however, you are "low-balling" because you are not a threat.

You clearly don't understand what it means to strike. The CMR pilots I know wear that Battle Star with pride. They walked the line knowing they may not come back, knowing they had a target on their backs from management, but also knowing that it wasn't all about them as they were improving the industry, and we all had their backs. You should thank those CMR pilots because you guys benefitted from their sacrifice. If you ever make it to the majors you'll be the poor bastard with the "me, me, me" complex. Kind of like those '83-'85 CAL hires.

The Eagle bubbas were gonna lose their job thanks to your union cronies.
You clearly don't get it. The Eagle pilots knew full well what they were doing when they voted "no", problem is there was a "me, me, me" unionized group (you'd fit in well there) that signed an almost identical deal. It was a crap thing to do and never should've happened.

I wish there was a middle finger emoticon.
The fact that you don't see the fact that everything you have as a Skywest pilot was negotiated for by others, it was then given to your pilot group to pacify you guys, you are proof of that. "No need to rock the boat, let the others sink, me, me, me......" That is my contention, and again it fits the same mold as those who cross pickets lines.

Good luck with your career.

Compass is very new, so relatively low longevity which is also aided by flow which keeps the senior folks moving along.

Not to completely change the subject, but my Google-foo is seriously failing me today. I am in sim training and the taxiing in the sim makes me really nauseated. Dramamine is illegal while flying; does that mean it is illegal in a sim? Trying to find a way to make it through LOE without barfing on my examiner. Thanks!

Jan - 38, Feb - 43, March - 45, April MTD - 44.

So yes, my 50+ was inaccurate but I think these numbers will only go up. We have lost 29 FO's MTD and 17 last week. If we are truly having a hard time getting pilots now, we will need to offer something more to get butts in the seats. And it doesn't matter how many we can hire if we can't get them through training or keep them more than a year or two after investing all the money in training them.

If we vote in something that allows the company to do whatever for first year without rewarding the rest of the group, we will regret it like we did the EMB raise. (I guess I can't speak for everyone, but I think the EMB raise played the pilot group hard.)

They aren't offering the bonus yet. Nor or they offering the retention bonus yet. Just a bonus for current typed CRJ applicants.

Don't let those dangling carrots fool you into voting yes for this.

One pay package a few years ago had 737 rates in it for us...

That works perfectly, actually. The problem is, while they have been letting me get away with that through most of sim training, I'm told that I will need to be looking up and around during taxi for the LOE. To show that I'm not going to be stupid in real life by looking down during taxi around, say, ORD.
