We could really use a non-global system here. Every month I can't hold what 10 years should be able to hold.
I have a buddy on the CRJ at XJT he is only a 9 year CPT with 14-17 days off every month, commutable trips and 3 weeks off every vacation.

It's also mainly about the work rules at Xjet. It doesn't matter what type of PBS system you use if you don't have any/enforceable contract language.

You hold what Anita wants you to hold, and she wants you to hold your butt, every bid award period. 14-17 days off is easy, just a cell call away, if everybody called 45 minutes to 2 hours prior to taking a Platinum series of days off, it would change quickly. We don't have work rules, they are work guidelines, law for pilots and guidelines for the company.

What is the seniority comparison? Does you buddy have higher relative seniority? Longevity means nothing in terms of bidding if everyone has been there 10-15 years. It is all about the seniority.

I have decided that nothing is going to get better or get fixed. I am actively working to GTFO. Hopefully I will get an offer somewhere before I am forced to quit after getting re-flowed all summer. The fact that the company is trying to get notification and re-flow as part of the EFB should be telling to anyone here.

The ASA pilots have good PBS rules because they can actually negotiate and enforce their contract. Until you have an nmb recognized bargaining agent, you won't get anything better than what you have now.

10 years? What does that have to do with anything. It's all about seniority in your position and domicile. That's 25% in ORD, but on reserve anywhere west of Denver.
And if you've been here 10 years you should know SAPA doesn't do ****.

Not a SAPA cheerleader by any stretch, but that statement is not 100% true. I think SAPA and the reps do a lot of stuff. Company keeps them busy running around putting out fires. But we as a pilot group do not want to give them the tools to really help us. Either because we believe the BS union propaganda on SWOL, or we are too cheap to give up 2%. Meanwhile, the company will just pencil whip some new rule change that will cost us 5% of our pay, and we will whine that SAPA doesn't do anything to stop it.
Hard fact is that they wouldn't be able to just make changes to our "contract" if it was a true contract. So we will just continue to watch our relative seniority just get "chipped" away and work more days each month. Get more hours forced down our throats, and get to have that personal call from MT when we time out so he can explain to us individually why we are not going to be pay protected.
We lost 43 pilots in Feb and my bet is we lose at least 60 in March.
