Most of the ones I fly with want to go to the RJ for the bases more than the pay bump. I fly with a lot of Brasilia captains who commute from Phoenix and Seattle and even a few who commute from Chicago and Houston.

Reserve guarantee on the RJ isn't much of a pay raise over a 90 hour line on the Bro. When I transition I worked out that I'll likely take a pay cut. I commute from an RJ base though and would rather be on reserve in base than holding a line as a commuter.

It would take 97 hrs of credit on the EMB to get the same pay as 75 hrs of reserve pay on the RJ. Thats at my current rates, alot of guys also have the commute issue as well.

You would think they would want to move onto mainline and not an RJ

Default Osh Kosh

Has anyone gone through the interview at Osh Kosh? I'm hoping to attend later this week.

Been helping out there the first 2 days and it's laid back, meet with Camielle and a few chief pilots. There is a 50 question test from the ATP, HR, and a sim ride. There has been a 750 hr c130 ANG pilot that was given an offer on day 1. People visiting the tent have been very positive with Skywest showing up. Even had a guy who was 63 who wanted to just work his 2 years.

From all the negative posts, there has only been positive at the show and been a great experience for those curious on who Skywest is, to college students wanting to make connections.

Key things if you show up wanting to interview:
-up to date app on airline apps
-bring resume
-bring a good attitude and enjoy the show

If you can only spare time to do the interview 1 on 1 or the written test and come back later, that's encouraged. The main thing they have said we want great people but they want you to enjoy the airshow first.

Hope that helps.

I don't know if any pilot can be in a negative mood at Oshkosh. The whole place is like a giant aviation party. I always walk out of there in a great mood and upset that I have to leave. Also internet tough guys are never as tough in person.
