You don't know anyone's real history here, where we flew how many hours we have etc.

any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks so much!!

Honest question. Why do think SkyWest has minimums and why do you think you should get in below them?

They pull questions from the ATP test bank. Well, if you don`t really want to have to study that all over again then don`t...and apply somewhere else. Or you can study like everyone else who has been successful in the interview.

There was a never a requirement to be an airline pilot. It's generally assumed that you are a professional pilot (which includes CFIs) but even non-pilots are welcome. Non-airline pilots who annoy us all by "posting above their weight" may get their access restricted.

They have hired some with 800 hours TT but only if they had CRJ time from another airline. There are rumors (possibly true) that they have hired pilots with significantly less than 1000 who were close relatives of senior company executives. You do not faill into those categories, so you'll need 1000 to interview.

You will need a first class medical on the day of the interview...I don't think you need one to actually get the interview.

You will need the ATP written.

A little more ME would be nice but you are probably close enough.

But where did you go to college and where did you get your flight training? Unfortunately your biggest stumbling block may be the fact that you turn 23 AFTER the new ATP requirement goes into effect. Do you meet these requirements?

"baccalaureates from an aviation program who obtained their commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating from an affiliated part 141 pilot school and who have 1,000 hours of flight experience"

If you do, you can get a restricted ATP with 1000 hours and at least age 21. If you do not, then you cannot get your ATP until your 23rd birthday...and the ATP rule takes effect 8/1/2013.

SKW will probably not hire you if they would have to take you offline on 8/1/2013, wait for your birthday later that month, then give you an ATP checkride. They would probably give you a class date 4-5 before your birthday...that way you would be 23 by the time you ffinished sim.

Here's the bottoms line for the original OP.... SkyWest is heavily interviewing soon to be furloughed guys and gals from eagle, colgan and pinnacle. These pilots all exceed the mins. With this type of applicant pool, I highly doubt someone with less than the published mins will get a shot. It could happen but very unlikely unless you have serious pull...

Not true, that provision hasn't gone into effect yet, it is currently in the comment phase.

Is MSP,ORD, and IAH still the junior bases? What kind of time frame are new hires looking at to hold a line?

I think some of the people on this thread have forgotten what is was like trying to hussle an airline job. I am always happy to answer questions, regardless if that person has the mins or not. I guess someone should have been "annoyed" with you when you were trying to break into the industry. Is Skyqueen going to get hired without the mins? No. Does her lack of mins effect you in anyway? No. Can you give her advice on how to get there? Yes. No one is forcing you to read or post on this forum.
