Skywest 900 flying in PHX?

Skywest dispatcher is claiming they will start flying 900's for US Air out of PHX. Anybody confirm this?

Skywest 900 flying in PHX?

We thought we were then Mesa won the bid

etflies 05-02-2013 12:30 PM

Looks like it is official, SkyWest will fly 4 CRJ-900s out of PHX for Airways this summer, replacing 4 CRJ-200s coming off lease in July.

Skywest 900 flying in PHX?

Well look at that, it is official. I was wrong!

props4ever 05-02-2013 02:25 PM

So no new net flying. Who cares.

Mildred Pierce 05-02-2013 02:50 PM

The 4 200's will be used elsewhere in the system. So, it is a small increase in flying unless they are getting rid of older 200's.

rickair7777 05-02-2013 02:53 PM

Probably no net flying, just BHO for a handful of pilots.

SKYWCRJCA 05-02-2013 03:34 PM

The press release says the 200s in phx will replace others coming off lease. That means no growth.

JetBlast77 05-02-2013 04:11 PM

Source for press release?

Surprise 05-02-2013 04:17 PM

Hey, come on now. This is like, 20 new flight attendant lines or something. Spread the love.

Company website.

Oh so they found a place for ASA's (ex-Air Mekong) 900's ? ... The 4 of them. Last I heard...Mesa was "eyeing" those for their collection.

Wasted post... This should read : "No real growth at Skywest...just more crap RJ's replacing older crap RJ's."

Piedmonster 05-02-2013 05:08 PM

So how many senior guys/gals are gonna jump on the transfer list to PHX??
Most who didn't really want to be in PHX transferred out, now a new influx begins.

So far no one.... First on the transfer list is junior.. 4 airplanes, will only amount to the same lines as our Alaska flying..maybe 15 out of the 55 lines in PHX could be all 900..

cactipilot 05-03-2013 12:53 AM

Welcome to PHX, 900s! It's about dang time!

Captain Tony 05-03-2013 06:07 AM

Snore... Zzzzz...

cactipilot 05-04-2013 11:47 AM

Does any one have any info on what Mesa routes these aircraft are taking over?

viper548 05-04-2013 12:37 PM

They are taking over current Skywest 200 routes.

lolwut 05-04-2013 01:18 PM

I know I'm excited! Since I'll now be flying 'the nine', I'm stoked to start wearing my epaulets backwards. Or should they be upside down? I can't remember.

cactipilot 05-05-2013 03:15 AM

treat yourself to a high quality meal with the pay increase.. how about that?

No matter what you do, at least you are distinguishing yourself as above the lowly 200 pilots of this world..

900 dudes at SKYW make literally a DOLLAR more than the air whiskey 200 guys.. Talk about SUPERIORITY! Do you feel me? Come on high fives over here

cactipilot 05-06-2013 12:35 AM

but but but it's so much longer! People will have much more respect for you as you taxi by, right?

Exactly. And don't forget the slats. It's simply more airplane, requiring more of a pilot to fly it.

:p
