Default Skywest vs Express Jet

Hey guys I hope this does not breakdown into a bashing one vs the other but I am trying to understand how Skywest is able to continue to put itself in a position to grow and the other side of the house is has not seen any gains. Does Skywest have things in its crew contracts that put it in a better position then express jet or is it the agreements that express jet has with its mainline partners that is really putting the handcuffs on growth and expansions?

There is a lot of history to expressjet that happend before it was part Skyw that set it on the track it is on.
Not all fees collected on departure are created equal.
I don't think people really believe that expressjet pilots are rolling in cash, and if what they make is considered too expensive, well that is just sad.

There are really only two facts you need to infer your own conclusion:

1. Skywest Airlines employees are cheaper than Expressjet Airlines Employees
2. Skywest Inc. management is vehemently anti-union

SkyWest is "inc's" babby, first born, first love, ect.... Its like growing up and your parents make you buy your own car. Yet buy your sister a convertiable bug for her 16th bday... The analogies could go on and on....

Skywest does not work under a labor contract. They are at will employees.

Not to start an argument at all, but I'd be curious to compare W-2's between equivalent employees, because I don't think the difference would be that big.

My friends at XJT with similar seniority to me make a lot more money than me due to double time and abusing their vacation time to drop trips. Our paychecks aren't even close.

Like I said, I'd be curious to compare W-2's. What seat/seniority are your friends, and what was their W-2 (roughly)? I'd agree if their FO's are making over $60K, but we don't know unless we compare actual W-2's.

As an FO, I've consistently had 50-55 for the last 5 years, almost 60 in 2013.
