It was about a rich guy who does this for fun telling every one we should just take a lowball offer because no matter how insignificant it was, it was enough.

Once the vote is over (passes) and the threat of a NO vote is gone, the forums will open back up. There will be a big sticky about not to 'hurt' people (one guy was talking about pain and suffering...) and SAPA will continue to represent management while selling out the people they are supposed to 'represent'. Sad thing is the majority of pilots do not even realize what just happened.

I've always said, ALPA is only as good as their MEC. Go with an in-house union if the letters alpa scare you. In the end, leadership is comprised of pilots on your seniority list only. That's true regardless of the letters in the name of the union.
It's not unlike the US constitution. We don't let 17 year old people vote either. There is a good reason for these rules.

And for the record if ALPA were actually a union we probably wouldn't have some of today's issues.

That's true. ALPA is no different than CAPA (which APA, SWAPA, IPA, IBT, FAPA are member of). It's an association of independent airlines. Each MEC makes their own decisions for their pilots.
